Gale warning in effect for Chesapeake Bay

The National Weather Service is calling for Wednesday to be sunny and breezy in the Baltimore area, with a high near 45 and west winds between 16 and 25 miles per hour, gusting as high as 39 miles per hour.

A gale warning is in effect Wednesday for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Potomac River. A small craft advisory is in effect Wednesday night for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Potomac River.

Wednesday night is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 31 and west winds between 7 and 16 miles per hour.

Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 43 and west winds between 5 and 9 miles per hour, becoming southerly.

Thursday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 37 and south winds between 6 and 8 miles per hour.
