The National Weather Service is calling for Tuesday to be rainy in the Baltimore area, mainly after 11 a.m., with a high near 49 and south winds between 8 and 14 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Rainfall amounts between half an inch and three quarters of an inch are possible.
A small craft advisory is in effect through Tuesday night for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and tidal Potomac River. A coastal flood advisory is in effect Tuesday afternoon and evening for the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The weather service notes that the coastal flood advisory may need to be expanded to include areas surrounding the tidal Potomac River during high tide Tuesday evening, but that was not the case as of 6 a.m. Tuesday.
