Towson routed at UMass, 86-56

Senior Robert Nwankwo had a double double by halftime, but it wasn't enough as Massachusetts defeated Towson, 86-56, Wednesday night.

The Tigers (0-6) committed 26 turnovers and allowed the Minutemen (6-2) to shoot 46.4 percent on 3-pointers.

Nwankwo finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.

UMES 59, Navy 46: The host Hawks (2-7) ended a six-game slide as Ishaq Pitt scored 19 against the Midshipmen (3-5).

No. 2 Connecticut 92, Towson 31: The host Huskies (7-0) hit 12 3-pointers en route to a thrashing of the Tigers (4-2), who got nine points off the bench from freshman forward Camille Alberson.

No. 20 Georgetown 70, Coppin State 54: Sugar Rodgers had 26 points to power the visiting Hoyas (6-2) past the Eagles (2-4).

UMES 39, American 37, OT: Kwinnyata Mercer scored 13 points as the visiting Hawks (1-3) edged the Eagles (5-3).
