Running

Turkey Trot 10k

Thanksgiving Day started out with a 10k run for 349 finishers at the Howard County Striders' annual Turkey Trot held at Jeffers Hill Neighborhood Center. This race was a prediction run, the object being to start when you want and finish as close to 11 a.m. as possible.

The winner, Rick Schofield (269th across the finish line) finished 3.56 seconds after 11 a.m. and won the highly coveted brass turkey trophy. Turkey Trot benefits the David Tripp Scholar Athlete Scholarship that is awarded annually to eligible high school seniors.
