Arbutus volunteers aid Howard County emergency responders at scene of fatal accident

Among the 64 calls for medical and fire-rescue service received by the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department Nov. 20-27 were the following:

Lawyers Hill Road, 6200 block, 8:08 p.m. Nov. 25. A motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported. Crews from the Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded to assist Howard County units with extrication after a motor vehicle accident in Elkridge. Two people died at the scene. Two seriously injured people were taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Another critically injured person was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Wilkens Avenue at Interstate 695, 12:04 p.m. Nov. 23. Crews from the Arbutus and Woodlawn volunteer stations responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injury in Arbutus. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Washington Boulevard, 3600 block, 9:59 a.m. Nov. 23. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injury in Halethorpe and found property damage but no injuries.

Raven Drive, 1100 block, 12:11 a.m. Nov. 23. Crews responded to the report of a person having chest pains in Halethorpe and transported one seriously ill person to a local hospital.

Sulphur Spring Road at East Drive, 6:54 p.m. Nov. 22. Crews responded to responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injury in Arbutus and found find property damage but no injuries.
