Schedule for IAAM-WCAC Basketball Challenge announced

McDonogh-St. John's and Spalding-Holy Cross highlight 8-game event

The Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland and the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference have announced the schedule for the inaugural IAAM-WCAC Basketball Challenge, to be held Dec. 3-4 at St. Paul's School for Girls' Performance Gym in Brooklandville.

The first day of action features IAAM runner-up McDonogh facing St. John's, which finished No. 14 in the final ESPN RISE poll last season and was the WCAC champion.

The second day features IAAM defending champion Archbishop Spalding playing WCAC runner-up Holy Cross.

Teams invited to participate in the Challenge are chosen in consultation with the conferences and are based on geographic and competitive criteria.

Admission for the event is $5, and children under 10get in for free.

Saturday, December 3

Severn vs. St. Mary's Ryken, noon
St. Frances vs. Bishop McNamara, 2 p.m.
Seton Keough vs. Archbishop Carroll, 4 p.m.
McDonogh vs. St. John's College, 6 p.m.

Sunday, December 4

Archbishop Spalding vs. Holy Cross, noon
Roland Park Country vs. Elizabeth Seton, 2 p.m.
Pallotti Prep vs. Good Counsel, 4 p.m.
Mercy vs. St. Paul's School for Girls, 6 p.m.
