Carney: Milestone celebrations will not go unnoticed

October and Halloween are now ancient history, but a little retroactive catch up is needed on a couple of last month's milestone celebrations.

Evelyn Walter, longtime member of the Parkville Senior Center, was surprised by a 98th birthday party at the Center Friday on Oct. 28. Another birthday girl was Helen Molloy, a dedicated volunteer at St. Isaac Jogues Church who turned 90 on Oct. 21. Helen was surprised by a chorus of "Happy Birthday" around a homemade cake in the parish office

Want to try your luck at Delaware Park Casino without the hassle of driving up and parking there? Yyou might like to join the Friends Forever group from St. Isaac Jogues Church on a bus excursion on Thursday, Dec. l. The bus will depart from the church parking lot at 9215 Old Harford Road, at 9 a.m. and return at 5 p.m The cost is $30. Something new and challenging has come to North Plaza. Palanzo Martial Arts which is celebrating 41 years at its Pikesville location, recently opened another center on this side of the Beltway at 8820 Waltham Woods Road, offering healthy exercise programs for both kids and adults, six days a week. While martial arts is not affiliated with Baltimore County Public schools, after-school pickup with homework time can be arranged.
