Westbound Route 100 at Interstate 97 south in Glen Burnie will be closed throughout the evening because of a multiple vehicle accident, police said.

At about 2:30 p.m. Anne Arundel County police responded to a crash near Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport involving an SUV and an armored car, which rolled over on westbound Route 100, police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.

Officers are on the scene directing traffic and police are encouraging drivers traveling west on Route 100 to use Quarterfield Road or northbound Interstate 97 as alternate routes.
