The 9:30 Club, one of Washington's most prominent concert venues, won the Billboard Touring Award for Top Club Thursday night in New York City.

The award is based on attendance. This is the third win in a row for the 9:30 Club, according to Audrey Schaefer, spokeswoman for the club.

"I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again. It's all about our staff. If they're reading this ... THANK YOU!!!" said club owner Seth Hurwitz in a statement.

moe. plays two shows, Friday and Saturday, at the 9:30 Club. Fitz and the Tantrums will play a sold-out show on Sunday.

Clarification: The 9:30 Club has won the award three years in a row, not two.

What do you think of when you think of the 9:30 Club? Did they deserve the award or are there other venues more worthy? Let us know in the comments.
