Restaurants, retailers offering discounts to veterans today

Veterans and active duty service members out and about today should ask merchants if they are offering special discounts for those who have served their country in the military. Generally, you’ll need to show a valid military ID or proof of service.

 Here’s a roundup of some:

Walgreens says it is offering a 15 percent discount on eligible items and 20 percent off on any Walgreens and W Brand items.

Outback Steakhouse is offering a free bloomin’ onion and coca cola

Eat free from a limited menu at Chili’s

Free six-inch sub from Subway in certain markets, including Baltimore

Free entree on Sunday, Nov. 13, at McCormick & Schmick’s. Participating restaurants include those in the Inner Harbor and two other sites in Baltimore as well as the Annapolis restaurant.
