The Mountain Club of Maryland conducts hikes, overnight and camping trips and maintains trails.

Sat., Nov. 12, Massanutten Mountains: This is a 9.5-mile circuit hike on the Stephens Trail and the Massanutten East Trail to Kennedy's Peak. Hike finishes at Camp Roosevelt. 410-889-8225.

Sun., Nov 13, Gunpowder State Park/Sweet Air: With a mixture of pines, hardwoods and open corn fields, this fairly easy trail offers a wide variety of environs to hike through, in addition to stream-side views of Little Gunpowder River and a pond. 410-877-7226.
