City Council member thanks family, supporters in successful campaign

November 07, 2011

We have just completed our Laurel 2011 election cycle. First, I want to thank my wife, Mary Eileen, and daughters, Marianne and Katie, for helping me with my campaign. I also want to thank our mayor and my friend, Craig Moe, and my Council colleagues Valerie, Donna and Fred; and Eddie, our Council colleague-elect, for a great Laurel Team effort.

This election cycle I relied upon Candy DiPietro to take over as my treasurer after her mother, Peggy Anderson, had provided a steady hand in this area for the past 15 years – we all miss Peggy!

To my financial supporters, thank you for your generosity to my campaign! To those that had my signs in their yards and in their places of business, it does make a difference as awareness of the city election counts!

To those that worked as Election Judges, kudos for a job well done! Finally I want to thank the voters of Laurel who came to the polls to cast their votes.

Most, even many of those that cast their votes for my opponent, were cordial to me and I appreciated the smiles, especially in the ice, snow and rain on Saturday! I look forward to serving all of you and the city of Laurel for the next two years, and I can always be reached through City Hall at 301-725-5300 ext. 120.
