Shad Roe heads into final week of the regular season still looking for perfection

The gridiron guru is running out of time

November 03, 2011

Three losses last week? That doesn't sound like me, but, alas, it was me that made those picks. Now, with just tonight's games left before the playoffs begin, I've only got one shot at a perfect week of regular-season predictions. Here's what I see happening:

Aberdeen at Fallston. The game of the week, kids. Undefeated Fallston proved its mettle last week with a big victory over North Harford, and Aberdeen pumped its record up to 7-2 by knocking the tar out of CMW. I'm betting there's going to be a whole bunch of points scored in this one. The pick: Fallston wins, 42-35.

Harford Tech at Perryville. Perryville needs this victory to close out a glorious 10-0 regular season; somehow, I don't see the Cobras getting in their way. The pick: Perryville wins, 48-12.

Havre de Grace at Overlea. The Warriors are surely smarting after last week's loss to Bel Air, but this won't be the game where they redeem themselves. The pick: Overlea wins, 23-10.

CMW at Bel Air. The Bobcats should not have much trouble with the Mustangs. The pick: Bel Air wins, 32-7.

Bo Manor at Edgewood. This could be a very exciting contest, as the two teams match up pretty well. The pick: Edgewood wins, 21-17.

Rising Sun at Patterson Mill. A victory would put the Huskies at 9-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to Perryville. The pick: Patterson Mill wins, 28-14.

North Harford at Joppatowne. I just plain had it wrong last week, when I predicted the Hawks would beat Fallston, and that the Mariners would lose to Owings Mills. This week, I'm not making any mistakes with these two. The pick: North Harford 35-21.

Last week's record, 5-3

Shad's all-time record, 1,733-682, 71.8 percent.
