Chesapeake Math and IT Academy participates in national math competition

Chesapeake Math and IT Academy participated in the American Math Challenge National Competition, finishing as the top Maryland school and fifth nationwide. The American Math Challenge Competition is organized by Math Counts and Mathletics. About 72,000 from 1,431 schools participated in the competition. Hayden McWilliams, a CMIT seventh-grader, placed 61st. Hayden received an iPod shuffle as a reward.

CMIT Math team members who were part of the competition included Myles Lewis, Hayden McWilliams, Carl Payton, Dante Moncrieffe, Ryan Chan, Michael Igoe, Chernor Jalloh, Ratrell Ray, Olivia Martino, Carlea Williams-Locks, Ethan Laurenceau, Bitania Berhane, Joi Belton-Summerville, Micah Bradley, Dominique Lewis, Mariam Aminu, Rashaun Williams, Anna Greene, Agatha Dulce, Dorian Baldwin-Bott, Milan Richardson and Quianna Blanc.
