Holiday Mart Craft Show — Seeking additional crafters for its annual craft show. Artists will need to submit four professional digital photos on a CD, or photographs of work by Oct. 28. Images must be representative of the original handcrafted art or craft items and display. Selection is based on uniqueness, originality, quality, display and popularity. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance, waitlist or non-acceptance. Jewelry vendors need not apply. Fee is non-refundable. Jury fee is $20 and is non-refundable. Gary J. Hospital Accompaniment Advocate — An on-call volunteer position responsible for responding to Howard County General Hospital within 30 minutes of receiving a call, to provide comfort, support and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault. Cable Advisory Committee — Seeking applicants interested in serving a five-year term on the committee, which provides recommendations to the Executive and Council on all matters related to the County cable system and its facilities. Candidates must be Howard County residents, 18-years-old or older, have an interest in cable and be able to attend the Committee's meetings held quarterly on the second Wednesday in March, June, September and December at 7 p.m. at the George Howard Building in Ellicott City. Additional meetings may be called for by the Committee Chairperson when, in his or her opinion, it is important to consider a matter immediately. Meetings are open to the public and become a matter of public record. Youth Ambassador for Healthy Relationships — The Empowerment Movement, a youth leadership project, focused on promoting peaceable living and healthy relationships, seeks to empower youth with the skills to speak out against social norms that support violence. Ambassadors will learn to engage their peers in behaviors that encourage personal and community safety. Open to high school students, participants will learn about issues such as internet safety, dating violence and healthy relationships. American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery — Seeking volunteer drivers (and their vehicles) to help provide transportation assistance for Howard County cancer patients who need transportation to and from treatment facilities. "Road" volunteers provide an essential and necessary service for patients who have no car, may be too ill to drive or have family members and friends who may not have the time or financial means to provide this support. Meals on Wheels — Seeking volunteers to deliver meals to homebound residents in the central Maryland area. Distribution site is located at 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia, MD 21044. Meals are picked up by volunteers at the site and delivered between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Volunteers are asked to commit to drive a minimum of twice a month. 410-730-9476 or
