October 26, 2011

Judith Claibourne Ensor, associate judge for the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, has been elected president of the Board of Trustees of St. Paul's School for Girls.

Ensor will oversee the governance of SPSG and lead the school's strategic planning efforts. An alumna of the school, she has been a supporter since graduating in 1979.

"I am tremendously thankful for the incredible education I received at St. Paul's School for Girls," she said. "To this day I credit SPSG not only with completely preparing me for college and law school, but with helping me to develop important practical life skills as well as a life-long love of learning.

"It seems fitting that I devote time and energy to ensuring that current and future SPSG students receive the same opportunities."

Ensor has served SPSG in several capacities. She was a member of the SPSG Alumnae Association Executive Board and president of the association.

First elected to the SPSG Board of Trustees in 2003, she has been a member of the Executive Committee, the Audit Committee, and the Trustee Committee.

She was the school's representative to Samuel Ready Scholarships, Inc., from 2008-2011, and co-chaired the committee that brought Dr. Gillespie to SPSG. In 2008, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award and, a year later, the Robert Pollock Trustee Service Award for her dedication to SPSG.

She was named one of the Daily Record's Top 100 Women in 2007, 2008, and 2011, putting her in the Circle of Excellence with other women who have been chosen three times.

The Law Office of Jane Frankel Sims, in Towson, has added Laura Lynn Thomas and Sofia Scharlock to its legal team. Thomas and Scharlock join associate attorney John Robinson, paralegal Cristina Flores Lujan and legal assistant Susan Meurer as legal professionals focusing in the areas of estate planning, estate and gift taxation, estate and trust administration and charitable giving.

Thomas earned a law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and a bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Scharlock has worked as an estate planning and administration paralegal at a law firm in Rochester, N.Y., and later served as the life and asset planning department coordinator at a New York law firm.
