Arbutus volunteers rescue injured person on trail in Patapsco Valley State Park

Among the 76 calls for medical and fire-rescue service the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received Oct. 16-23 were the following:

Patapsco State Park, 12:30 p.m. Oct. 20. Crews responded to the report of a injured person in the Avalon Area of the state park. One seriously injured person was rescued from a trail and taken to a local hospital.

Westland Boulevard, 4700 block, 10:56 p.m. Oct. 19. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a building fire in Arbutus and found a small stove top fire that had self-extinguished.

1000 Hilltop Circle, 11:15 p.m. Oct. 18. An overdose was reported. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to the report of an overdose on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. One seriously ill person was taken to a local hospital.

Shelbourne Road, 5500 block, 12:52 p.m. Oct. 18. Crews responded to the report of a brush fire in Arbutus and extinguished a small area of burning leaves.

4622 Wilkens Avenue, 12:36 a.m. Oct. 18. Crews responded to a fire alarm at the Giant food store and found a broken water pipe, but no fire.
