Which coaching brouhaha would you pay to watch?

October 18, 2011|By Matt Vensel

That fun, little coaching feud between 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and Lions coach Jim Schwartz has died down now that every talking head has chimed in on the matter and the NFL has opted against fining the coaches.

"Fortunately, there was no fighting and thus no basis for a fine," a spokesman said. "However, both coaches told [NFL executive VP] Ray Anderson today that their post-game conduct was wrong and will not happen again."

But Monday, neither Harbaugh nor Schwartz publicly apologized for their post-game actions. And of course, the other Harbaugh, the one who coaches the Ravens, believes his brother was not to blame for Sunday's incident.

I think I know who was right,” John Harbaugh said at his Monday press conference. “But whoever was right or wrong, I know whose side I’m on. I’m definitely taking sides. [It’s] the same side I’ve always taken.”

This wasn’t the first time two testosterone-filled NFL coaches have butted heads, though if the Harbaugh brothers challenged Schwartz, a Baltimore guy, to a steel-cage match, I think that would be a football first.

I would much prefer to see the Harbros duke it out with the boisterous Ryan brothers, but that’s just me.

What about you guys? Are there a couple of coaches you would like to see exchange noogies?

Your turn: Which coaching brouhaha -- football or any other spot -- would you pay to watch?
