Placement of death notices insults families of deceased

Letter to the editor

October 18, 2011

I don't know whose idea it was to move the obituaries to the page after the sports coverage and just prior to the classified section. I find this placement quite insulting to the families who have lost their loved ones and want them to be commemorated. Its like y'all are trying to hide the fact that people die in this county. It's a fact of life and you can't get away from it.

I would suggest that you select a much more appropriate section of the newspaper, either just before or just after the neighborhood columns. After all, the people writing these columns are talking about the areas of the county in which these people have lived.
