October 18, 2011

Harford Community College soccer head coach Jason Muffoletto earned two conference championships in one night, as the Fighting Owls men's and women's soccer teams claimed MD JUCO regular season championships Tuesday.

The No. 18 men's team earned the first national ranking in program history last week and won its 11th straight conference victory Tuesday with a 1-0 win over Catonsville. The Fighting Owls' 11-0-1 MD JUCO record clinched the first conference title in school history.

The women's team earned a share of the MD JUCO title with a 7-0-1 record. The team's 11th overall win came Tuesday at Catonsville, 4-0. The title was the second crown in the last three years for the women's team.

Muffoletto has been the head coach of the women's team for the past eight years, while serving as the men's team leader for the past two seasons.
