74-year-old man dies after 3-vehicle crash in Pasadena

Victim's vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, police say

A 74-year-old man died Sunday night after a three-vehicle accident in Pasadena.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department on Monday identified the victim as J.B. Cobb, of the 100 block of Magothy Beach Road.

According to a police statement, traffic officers responded to a report of an accident about 7:34 p.m. on Sunday on Mountain Road at Magothy Beach Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that Cobb was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 westbound on Mountain Road near Magothy Beach Road when his vehicle crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic.

According to the police statement, the Dodge Ram struck a 2008 Ford Mustang and pushed it backward into a Ford F-150. The drivers of the Mustang and the Ford F-150 were not injured in the crash, according to the police statement. Cobb was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the police statement, the officer's investigation indicated that Cobb may have suffered a medical emergency while driving. The investigation continues.
