October 14, 2011|By Chris Eckard, The Baltimore Sun

No. 17 Towson (4-1, 2-0 CAA) vs. No. 18 Old Dominion (5-1, 2-1 CAA)

Time: 3:30 p.m.

Where: Foreman Field (Norfolk, Va.)

Radio: 1570 AM

Series: First meeting between the programs

What's at stake: With wins against Richmond and Villanova (both ranked), Towson is off to its best CAA start since joining the conference in 2004. The Tigers have more wins in just five games this season than all of the past two years combined. The Tigers defeated Richmond 31-28 last week, and face a surging Old Dominion team on the road. The Monarchs are celebrating Homecoming and are planning a white out.

Key matchup: Towson freshman running back Terrance West led the Tigers with a career-high 128 yards on 21 carries against Richmond. He became just the seventh player in school history to score four touchdowns in a game. He is part of a backfield that averages more than 200 yards. The Monarchs are ranked No. 14 in the country in rushing defense, allowing just 96.3 rushing yards a game this season.

Players to watch: Towson co-captain right tackle Henry Glackin is the lone senior on the offensive line and is a major reason the Tigers have had success in their running game this year. Glackin is a four-year starter and one of the CAA's best. Old Dominion senior wide receiver Thomas DeMarco has scored more touchdowns (five) than anyone else on the team and leads a balanced offense.
