Rosburg hopeful about David Reed's return

Kick returner has impressed special teams coordinator

Thursday’s news that David Reed upgraded to full participation after being limited Wednesday was perhaps the clearest signal that the wide receiver and kick returner is ready to return Sunday when the Ravens play host to the Houston Texans.

Special teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg sounded optimistic about Reed’s chances when Rosburg addressed the media during his weekly briefing Thursday.

“He’s practicing,” Rosburg said. “So we’ll wait and see until Sunday. But it’s good to see him out there running around. He’s got a lot of energy, excited to play, and I hope he does.”

Rosburg said he wasn’t sure whether Reed would wear extra padding to protect the left shoulder that he strained in the team’s loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 18.

“I didn’t see anything yesterday, but it’ll be a decision made by the doctors and guys above my pay grade,” Rosburg said. “But he sure looked good out there yesterday.”
