Texans playing coy with status of A. Johnson?

Kubiak won't rule out star wide-out just yet

While there is no timetable for the return of Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, many reports have the five-time Pro Bowl selection at least missing Sunday’s game against the Ravens and likely the Oct. 23 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Johnson underwent surgery last week to repair his injured hamstring, which would suggest at least a few weeks on the shelf.

But Houston coach Gary Kubiak wouldn’t rule out Johnson during his weekly news conference Monday.

“I don’t know,” Kubiak said in comments distributed by the Texans. “We’ll see where he’s at each and every week. As of right now, the soreness has went away, his rehab has picked up, so we’ll see where he’s at each day.”

Kubiak will undoubtedly be asked to update his star wide-out’s status when he participates in a conference call with Baltimore media Wednesday morning.
