Coat donations accepted, cleaned at Zips outlets

News brief

October 11, 2011

Baltimore County and Baltimore City fire departments – as well as local Zips Cleaners outlets — are supporting the annual WBAL Radio Coats for Kids campaign, which provides gently used coats to needy children and adults throughout the region.

People with used coats in good condition may donate them by taking them to one of several Zips stores, where they will be cleaned free of charge and given to the campaign. WBAL requires that all coats donated be professionally cleaned. Locally, the participating stores are:

• Zips Towson, 1002 Taylor Avenue.

• Zips Timonium, 2155 York Road.

• Zips Pikesville, 1220 Reisterstown Road.

The deadline to donate coats is Nov. 11. The coats will be distributed on Nov. 23, at the Woodlawn Fire Station, and Nov. 25 at the Dundalk Fire Station.
