Classical mandolin

The Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra will perform at the 25th annual convention of the Classical Mandolin Society of America Sat., Oct. 15, 7:30 p.m., in the Kraushaar Auditorium at Goucher College (1021 Dulaney Valley Road). The Hannah Spiro Band, Julian Delaney and Steve Lanocha will perform at the next Music Matters Showcase Sat., Oct.15, 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Mad City Coffee, at 10801 Hickory Ridge Road, Columbia. Admission is free. Call 410-964-8671.

Brian Bowers will perform Thu, Oct. 13, 8 p.m., at Baldwin's Station & Pub (7618 Main St., Sykesville). The Virginia native is an autoharp virtuoso and has become a major artist on the traditional music circuit. Admission is $20. Call 410-795-1041.

Columbia-based jazz singer Gail Marten can be heard Sat., Oct. 15, 1-4 p.m., at the Laurel Park Clubhouse (Route 198 and Racetrack Road). Marten is performing as part of Laurel Park's 100th Birthday Bash and Fall Fest. Admission is free. Go to http://www.laurelpark.com.

Due Process will perform Fri., Oct. 14, 9 p.m., at the Second Chance Saloon (Columbia, 410-545-5844). The band plays a mixture of classic and alternative rock. Bluebird Sky will play rock 'n' roll Sat., Oct. 15, 9:30 p.m., at the Second Chance.
