Field hockey: CMW drops Patterson Mill in Key UCBAC divisional showdown

North Harford blanks Bo Manor, Mariners edge Elks and Cobras drop Rams

The host Mustangs stormed to a 5-3 victory over reigning UCBAC champ Patterson Mill in Wednesday's key Chesapeake (upper) Division showdown at C. Milton Wright.

The two teams were closely matched through the first half, with each allowing just one goal. In the second half, however, CMW scored four times, while holding the visitors to just two goals.

Danielle King and Sarah Nolan were CMW's big guns, each finding the Husky net twice. Sabrina Rhodes scores once in the victory.

Mariel Castronova and Lauren West each scored once for the Huskies, while Linnea Gonzalez assisted both of her team's goals.

CMW goalie Julia DiCara had 11 saves.

Maddie Hedrick had five saves in goal for the Huskies.

Hawks shut down Eagles

The North Harford girls won at home Wednesday, whitewashing the visiting Bo Manor Eagles in a 5-0 victory.

Maddy Dolinar and Kara Parks each scored twice for the Hawks, while Juliet Dolinar added one goal to the winning tally.

The Hawks led 4-0 at the half.

Mariners edge Elks

The Joppatowne Mariners earned a one-goal victory in their Wednesday matchup, dispatching the visiting Elkton Golden Elks, 2-1.

Tranae Thomas and Christina Miller each scored one goal in the victory.

In goal for Joppatowne, April Kinyua racked up 11 saves.

Cobras strike

Harford Tech won its Wednesday home matchup, dropping the Edgewood Rams, 4-0.

The Cobras led 3-0 at half-time.

Lyndsey Endlich had two goals in the victory, while Cat Roxas and Jordy Testerman each scored once to round out the scoring for Harford Tech.

Apple Ignacio led the Cobras with two assists, while Brushay Johnson-Lee and Tyler Bethke each had one.
