In baseball, underdogs aren't the heroes they once were

October 02, 2011

I was pleased that the Orioles came back from behind to win Wednesday night's game. I am not a fan of either team but I am disgusted seeing "fans" supporting visiting teams to that extent evident in this series against the Red Sox.

I live near Cincinnati, and grow tired of going to Reds games and seeing Dodger, Yankee and other teams' souvenirs for sale. As I watched the Oriole's games with the Sox, the fans' reaction to events on the field sounded as though they were atFenway Park.

I was therefore elated to see the O's come back and win. This stuff goes on all over the country and proves that the phrase "America loves an underdog" is no longer the case. It makes me sick.
