Smart Start Your Business Hosted by the Maryland Small Business Development Center. Discuss techniques to avoid common business pitfalls, while exploring the feasibility of an idea in order to increase one's chances for success. An attorney, accountant, banker and insurance professional will present the best practices for starting your business. Give it a Spin Hosted by the Columbia Art Center. Presents a three-hour potter's wheel workshop. Participants will learn the methods of centering clay and throwing a bowl and cylinder forms. Landscape Painting Hosted by The Columbia Art Center. Instructor Chaya Schapiro will focus on the fundamental skills of drawing, value and color, as well as techniques for seeing in terms of mass and form rather than detail. While the class is structured towards oil painting, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and other mediums are acceptable to use. A demonstration with oil paint will take place at each class.
