The Giant food store in Abingdon Station recently celebrated its grand reopening to exhibit its renovations and additions.

New elements at this Giant food store include a full-service floral department at the front of store; increased section of natural and organic food items featuring the full line of Giant's Nature's Promise products, and additional frozen offerings in a dedicated section; an expanded selection of gluten-free products; a large international section, offering a selection of Italian, Thai, Indian and Latin products; a redesigned bakery, featuring a full-service counter, offering friendly service and a large variety of fresh breads and pastries; and an expanded pet merchandise and food section, with a large variety of cat and dog products.

The re-opening is part of Giant's Project Refresh investment plan to remodel or replace Giant stores throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware. To date, Giant has invested several hundred million dollars in 108 stores as a part of Project Refresh. Eighteen grand re-openings are planned during Giant's 75th anniversary year.
