The new music venue in the Inner Harbor, Baltimore Soundstage, has scheduled its first show for September 6.

Big Sam's Funk Nation, a New Orleans funk band, will play the venue's soft opening. Edwin McCain is scheduled to play the day after. The September 6 show costs $15 via Ticketfly.

Soundstage also announced a couple of other new shows today, though not at their venue. The promoter will present John Waters' annual "A Naughty Christmas" at the Lyric Theater on December 21. Tickets start at $25 and go on sale Thursday.

And: R&B singer Ledisi, who performed at Sound Garden in June, will appear at the Lyric Theater on November 23. Tickets for that show, which start at $32, are available now.

Future Islands, who are on the verge of releasing new LP "On The Water" on October 11, have a local show scheduled as part of their promotional tour. The band will perform at the Ottobar December 3 with Javelin and Ed Schraer's Music Beat. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday. Price was not listed.

The Ottobar will also host Surfer Blood this Fall. The Floridians will appear there November 7. Tickets, at $12, are already on sale.

The Atlanta band Gringo Star is also scheduled to come to Baltimore. The band, now out with "Count Yer Lucky Stars," will perform at Golden West Cafe October 5. Ticket information is not yet available.

Also announced Wednesday: Suzanne Vega and Moby will perform at the Hippodrome Theater September 22 as part of a live radio taping for the syndicated show eTown. Tickets, at $29, are on sale now.
