Arbutus fire-rescue log: Volunteer department responds to fall, water rescue

Among the 80 calls for medical and fire-rescue service the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received Aug. 21-28 were the following:

Coleraine Road, 600 block, 1:17 p.m. Aug. 26. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to report of individual having fallen in Catonsville. One seriously injured individual taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Alletta Avenue at Nelway Avenue, 2:41 a.m. Aug. 25. Crews from the Lansdowne, Arbutus, English Consul and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded to report of fire in Lansdowne dwelling. Crews extinguished fire and rescued two victims. One critically injured individual taken to Bayview Burn Center.

Benson Avenue at Sulphur Spring Road, 7:38 p.m. Aug. 23. Crews responded to report of downed power lines in Arbutus. Crews controlled the hazard.

Hillcrest Park, 3800 Hollins Ferry Road, 7:31 a.m. Aug. 23. Crews from Lansdowne, Arbutus and Middle River volunteer stations; and Halethorpe and Texas career stations responded to request for inland water rescue in Lansdowne. Abandoned vehicle was removed from water.

Westland Boulevard at Courtney Road, 12:10 p.m. Aug. 21. Crews responded to report of motor vehicle accident with injury in Arbutus and transported individual with non-life-threatening injuries to local hospital.
