Shiloh Middle club plans walk, run to commemorate 9/11

HAMPSTEAD — On Sunday, Sept. 11, the Shiloh Middle School History Club will host a Never Forget 5k and 1-mile fun run and walk in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

The event will be held at North Carroll High School, Panther Drive, Hampstead, and is open to students and families of Carroll County Public Schools.

Registration the day of the race will take place from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and the races will begin at 9 a.m.

The cost of registration for the 5k race prior to the event is $25, and race day entry is $30.

For the 1-mile walk and fun run, adults are $20 if registered before the event and $25 the day of the race. Registration for children 12 and under is $15. T-shirts will be guaranteed to all pre-entry registrants.

Proceeds from the event will go to the World Trade Center Tribute Center, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the Fire Department of the City of New York Brotherhood Foundation, FDNY Rescue 1 and the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company.
