Wait, Tandon Doss eats at Five Guys for his pregame meal?

August 26, 2011|By Matt Vensel

Serious questions were raised by the revelation that Ravens rookie Tandon Doss broke up a fight at the Five Guys restaurant at the Inner Harbor before Thursday's game. Why was a Ravens player breaking up a knife fight? Does Doss really think Baltimore is more "ratchet" than Indianapolis? What does "ratchet" mean anyway?

But the hard question that must be asked is why Doss was eating his pregame meal at Five Guys in the first place.

Unfortunately, no one asked Doss after the victory about his choice in football fuel. Instead, legitimate reporters asked him why he was courageous/crazy enough to go all superhero on two knife-wielding gentlemen.

"I saw somebody start fighting, and I broke it up," Doss said Thursday night. "That's all it was to me.

"I mean, it was two dudes on one," the fourth-round pick out of Indiana added. "I was trying to help the situation out.  ... I saw the guy on the ground bleeding, and I saw a guy on top hitting him. So I stopped it."

Even more impressive is that Doss had Five Guys for dinner -- at least we can assume that he was eating there when he broke up the brouhaha -- and was able to catch two passes for 28 yards in an NFL game afterward.

Have you ever dined at Five Guys? After eating a delicious burger and fries at the chain restaurant, you’re pretty much stuck on the physically-unable-to-perform list for at least six hours. Doss must be a freak.

Anyway, in related news, there’s no word on whether Bryant McKinnie joined Doss at the burger joint.
