Coastal flood advisory issued until noon

The National Weather Service was calling for Monday to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 83 degrees and north winds of 5 to 7 miles per hour. There is a 70 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms, most likely after 11 a.m.

The weather service has issued a coastal flood advisory for west-facing shores of the Chesapeake Bay until noon Monday, indicating that winds and tides may combine to create flooding in low areas along the shore.

Monday night was expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 69 and northwest winds about 6 miles per hour. There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m.

Tuesday was expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 87 and north winds around 9 miles per hour. There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Tuesday night was expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 68 and north winds around five miles per hour or less. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
