City police have identified two men fatally shot in different parts of Baltimore on Sunday.

Demetrius Sowers, 33, of Catonsville was standing in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Clifton Ave. at 9:30 p.m., when he was approached by an unknown person, police said. Sowers fled from the assailant and was shot while running across Clifton Avenue. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:22 p.m.

Earlier Sunday, at about 3:12 a.m., police said they were called to the 2900 block of Edgecombe Circle South for a report of gunshots, and found 23-year-old Derrell Burrow, of the 5000 block of Palmer Ave., lying in a grassy area near an alley. He had been shot at least six times, police said.

Medics were called, but Burrow was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not give motives or suspects for either shooting.
