Catonsville man, 25, dies of injuries from accident in Odenton

Driver lost control of vehicle and hit a tree

Anne Arundel County police identified Tuesday a man who died after he was involved in a single-vehicle car crash in Odenton on Saturday.

Brendan James Truffer, 25, of the 100 block of Locust Drive in Catonsville, died Monday after his car struck a tree off Patuxent Road north of Conway Road, police said.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash about 4:37 a.m. Saturday.Their investigation indicated that the driver was heading north on Patuxent Road when his 2003 Toyota Solara veered onto the shoulder. According to police, Truffer lost control, hit a tree and was trapped inside the car.

An Anne Arundel County Fire Department crew responded and took Truffer to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he later died of his injuries. According to police, excessive speed and alcohol were possible factors in the accident. No one else was in the car, and the investigation is continuing.
