Crab feast — Hosted by American Legion Post 60, Sat., Aug. 6, 6-11 p.m., 2 Main St. All you can eat crabs, crab soup, corn on the cob, meatballs, chicken wings, coleslaw, dessert, 6-8 p.m. Music by DJ Miles and dancing, 8-11 p.m. Tickets $35 must be purchased in advance; all draft beer and soda included in price, 6-11 p.m. Adults only (must be 21 years old). Near-Death Experience — International Association of Near Death Studies Maryland Chapter meeting, Sun., Aug. 7, 3-5:30 p.m., Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, 11100 Johns Hopkins Road, Building 1 cafeteria. Twilight Tram Tour — Tue., Aug. 9, 6:30-7:30 p.m., all ages. 45-minute guided tour through the habitats of Patuxent Research Refuge on an all electric, open-air tram. View wildlife and their habitats while discovering the story of how the land has changed over time and how Patuxent is managing habitats for wildlife. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for seniors over 55 and $2 for children under 12. Bring exact change. Space is limited.

'And They're Off!' A Night Behind the Scenes in Laurel — RSVP by Aug. 10. Presented by Laurel Historical Society and A.M. Kroop and Sons, Sat., Aug. 13, 6 p.m., Laurel Museum, 817 Main St. Meet for conversation, dinner and to view museum's current exhibit: "And They're Off! 100 Years at Laurel Park."
