The National Weather Service was calling for Wednesday to be mostly cloudy in the Baltimore area, with a high near 88 degrees.

There is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Some storms could be severe, with heavy winds and rain. Rainfall may be between 0.5 and 0.75 inches.

The weather service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Maryland for Wednesday, saying that a few storms may produce damaging wind gusts and that isolated tornadoes will be possible.

Wednesday night was expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 73 degrees and south winds at 7 miles per hour becoming westerly.

Thursday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 86 and northeast winds of 9 to 11 miles per hour. Thursday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 71 and northeast winds of 6 to 9 miles per hour.
