Update: Here are the big winners at Wednesday's appetizer challenge, part of the kick-off event for Baltimore Summer Restaurant Week. Nicely done.

Judges’ Choice

City Cafe - Seared Scallop w/ Asiago, Corn & Tomato and Truffle Mist.

People’s Choice

Langermann’s - Fresh diver scallops lying in a bed of creamy heirloom Georgia grits and topped with bacon butter sauce.

Best Use of Locally Sourced Ingredients

Mr. Rain’s Fun House – Gunpowder Farm Bison lying flat on top of duck fat, a root from the sunflower family, topped with sassafras aioli

The kick-off event scheduled for noon-2 p.m. today at the Inner Harbor Amphtitheatre has been relocated to the 2nd floor of the Light Street Pavilion. Pass it on.

The event, which will be will have celebrity judges and the general public critiquing appetizers submitted by participating restaurants, including City Café, Langermann’s, La Tasca, Mr. Rain’s Fun House, M&S Grill, and Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion. The Mayor is going, why don't you?
