Apparently, Felix Pie, the preferred quirky Orioles outfielder of this blog, celebrates walk-off home runs hit by his teammates in a bizarre way. When the players swarm that night’s hero as he touches home plate, Pie scrambles from the pack to retrieve the batting helmet tossed aside by said hero on his way to the plate.

Why does Pie do this? That’s what I’m trying to find out. If you have an answer -- or if you want to speculate on the reason in a ridiculous manner -- feel free to do so in the comments section.
