Highlights from Ravens camp: July 30

July 30, 2011

REED, SUGGS RETURN: Seven-time Pro Bowl free safety Ed Reed made his first appearance at training camp on Saturday, but he participated mostly in individual drills. Four-time Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs also made his first appearance since being activated off of the team's non-football injury list, and he participated fully.

CATCH OF THE DAY: During a 7-on-7 exercise, quarterback Hunter Cantwell's slant pass glanced off the fingertips of rookie cornerback Chykie Brown, but wide receiver James Hardy still hauled in the pass in the back of the end zone.

FIRST FUMBLE: Rookie running back Walter Sanders coughed up the football during a rushing drill, but his error was mitigated when guard Colin Madison pounced on the loose ball.

INJURIES: Players who are on the physically-unable-to-perform list include left guard Ben Grubbs (ankle), wide receiver David Reed (wrist), offensive tackle Ramon Harewood (knees) and defensive tackle Brandon McKinney (knee). Wide receivers Hakeem Moore and Terrell Zachery (left knee), center Ryan Bartholomew and offensive tackle Andre Ramsey (right calf/shin) did not practice.

OVERHEARD: "You didn't make the tackle!" – Quarterback Joe Flacco to inside linebacker Ray Lewis, who got juked by running back Ray Rice after catching a screen pass.

SUNDAY'S SCHEDULE: There is no practice on Sunday. Monday's session is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. and could run as long as three hours. All practices are closed to the public.
