Mens Summer Lacrosse League powers through final week of regular season

Hinder Ford, Just Extreme, Bill Bateman's and Brick Bodies earn victories

In the last regular-season action of the Harford Men's Summer Lacrosse League, the Hinder Ford, Just Extreme Graphics, Bill Bateman's and Brick Bodies squads earned victories on Sunday afternoon.

The closest of Sunday's contests saw the Hinder Ford side edge past the Main Street Tower men 9-8.

Owen Jordan and Brian Zink led the winning squad, with each finding the opposing net three times. Luke Phipps had two goals and one assist in the victory, while teammate Thomas Hinder netted one goal. Mike Hinder and Kevin Hinder each dished out one assist.

John Gaeta scored a hat-trick for the Main Street Tower team, while Christian Shafer posted two goals and one assist. Jim McNeely scored twice in the loss, and Rob Marine had one goal.

Brian Vierheller saved eight shots in the Hinder Ford goal, while on the other end of the field, Brandon MacKnew posted seven saves.

Just Extreme rips Under Armour

Sunday's 3 p.m. match-up had the Just Extreme Graphics team dropping the Under Armour side 15-6.

The winners led 7-4 at halftime, and heading into the final quarter they were up 10-5.

Brad Wilson was Just Extreme's top offensive force, scoring five goals and handing out one assist. Kenny Reid was close behind with four goals, while Ben Wilson netted a hat trick and picked up one assist. Taz Stewart scored twice and registered one assist, while Marcus Coppola rounded out scoring for the winners with one goal.

Under Armour's scoring was well distributed, with six players netting one goal each. Kip Fuchs had one goal and one assist, while Billy Rowe, Steve Ziacko, Ben Verner, C.J. Tumulevich and Brian Rowe all scored once.

Ed Retzbach and Bryan Burrill split time in the winning side's goal, putting up five and three saves, respectively. Grant Kovach saved seven shots for Under Armour, while fellow goalkeeper Richard Bruno had four saves.

Bill Bateman's over Fallston Seafood

The Bill Bateman's Raw Bar squad earned a victory, defeating the Fallston Seafood men 7-4.

Gordie Long scratched out one goal and one assist in the victory, while Zac Linkous, Reiley Crosby, David McShane, Emmett Cahill, Pat Bivons and Matt Bivons all scored once for Bill Bateman's.

Mike Antinozzi registered one goal and one assist in the loss, while J.T. Dulkerian, Adam Knox and Dan Guttermuth netted one goal apiece.

Bill Bateman goalie Jim LaPenna racked up nine saves, while Fallston Seafood's Jason Hess had eight saves.

Brick Bodies edges Chops

Sunday's 4:30 p.m. showdown saw the Brick Bodies team win an 11-9 slugfest with the Chops Grille side.

Eric Kuehn, of Brick Bodies, was the top scorer for all week six's games, posting five goals in the victory. Nick DiBernardo had three goals and one assist for Brick Bodies, while teammate Tim Castaldo had two goals and one assist. Howard Otto scored once, while Chris Ogle handed out two assists.

Dan Rew scored three times and recorded two assists for Chops, while Adam Larrimore netted two goals and picked up one assist. Ryan Esposito scored a pair of goals in the loss, while Jeremy Knapp and August Pons both put up one goal and one assist.

Brick Bodies' Jim Dyches had 10 saves, while Justin Foudos blocked 13 shots in the Chops goal.
