The National Weather Service was calling for Wednesday to be sunny in the Baltimore area, with a high near 91 degrees and north winds around 8 miles per hour. Clouds are expected at night, with a low around 73 and calm winds.

Thursday was expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 94 degrees and winds becoming south about 4 to 7 miles per hour. Thursday night was expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 80 and south winds between 5 and 7 miles per hour.

Forecasters warned that the heat index may reach 105 degrees Friday and Saturday afternoons and that a heat advisory may be required.
