July 22, 2011

Harford County's only dive team, the Aberdeen Dive Team, had a very good showing at Sunday's Diving Championship Meet at Five Oaks Swim Club in Catonsville. Fourteen divers made the trip to Catonsville to compete against divers from the other 12 teams in the Central Maryland Diving League. Top performances from the team include: Lindsay Culbertson (6 and under girls), sixth place; Kimball Ranken (8 and under girls), fourth place; Jeffrey Kretschmer (8 and under boys), fourth place; Leah Getz (9-10 girls), fifth place; Nicholas Mooney (9-10 boys), first place; Megan Culbertson (11-12 girls), fifth place; Alissa Lyons (13-14 girls), second place; Katie Culbertson (13-14 girls), sixth place; and Doni Amato (15-18 boys), second place.

"This is our best showing in the three years that we have been competing in this meet. Our kids have improved so much over the past two months and the best part is they are having fun and performing dives that they've never done before," head dive coach Rick Culbertson said.
