The Women's Giving Circle of Harford County is accepting grant applications from nonprofits based in the county whose programs benefit women, children and/or families.
Applications are being accepted until Sept. 1, the group announced in a news release, in which it also said it intends to give grants totaling up to $20,000.

The Women's Giving Circle of Harford County, established last December, is providing one-year grants of up to $2,500 each for specific programmatic, operational or staff projects.
To be considered, organizations must be a registered 501(c) (3) nonprofit providing services in Harford County that benefit women, children and/or families. The grants will be announced in November and administered by the Community Foundation of Harford County.
Organizations interested in applying for a grant must submit a completed application to the Community Foundation of Harford County by 4 p.m. Sept. 1.
"Through the collaboration of our members, we feel that our grants will have a positive impact in helping the nonprofit community to increase the effectiveness of their programs," Jayne Klein, president of the Woman's Giving Circle of Harford County, said in a news release. "We expect to distribute close to $20,000 to improve the lives of women and their families in Harford County."
According to its news release, the Women's Giving Circle of Harford County, with more than 50 members, engages women in community philanthropy through time, talent and financial resources to address the needs of women and families in Harford County.
