Head of the Class: Achievements of Towson-area students

The following students were named to Bucknell University's dean's list for spring 2011 semester:

Eve Carlson, of Towson, daughter of Peter and Robin Carlson, and a 2008 graduate of Towson High School.

Hugh Shepard, of Towson, son of Michael and Jennifer Shepard, and a 2007 graduate of Loyola Blakefield High School.

Michael Douglas Meyer Jr., a 2007 graduate of Calvert Hall, graduated magna cum laude with University Honors, Honors in biology, with a major in marine biology and minor in oceanography from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Ocean Nakomy Music Gildee, a 2007 graduate of St. Pauls School for Girls, graduated with University Honors, Honors in marketing, majoring in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Gildee was also the recipient of the Senior Medallion Award for academic achievement, and university leadership, spirit and service.

On June 9, Sarah Keating, a 2006 graduate of Dulaney High School, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Amrhein, of Timonium, graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. On June 10, Keating commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. In 2010, her husband, Aaron Keating, graduated from Drexel with a Bachelor of Science in biology and commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Army National Guard. Sarah, Aaron, and their 2-year-old daughter, Anne, live in Philadelphia.
