Fundraiser

The Coretta Scott King Memorial Garden Party and Chateau Fashions Fundraiser will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at Sojourner Douglass College, 135 Stepney Lane in Edgewater. Call for artists

Benfield Gallery, 485 Jumpers Hole Road in Severna Park, invites artists 18 and older to enter its fall juried exhibition. Selected artwork will be on display at the gallery Sept. 17 through Oct. 15. Food drive

The Annapolis Senior Activity Center, 119 S. Villa Ave., is accepting donations through July 31 for the Lighthouse Shelter and Food Link at the front desk. Suggestions for donations include grape jelly, canned chicken, tuna, rice, canned beef stew, canned fruit, macaroni and cheese, saltine crackers, canned ham and spaghetti sauce. Auditions

•The Colonial Players will hold auditions for their production of the Agatha Christie mystery "The Unexpected Guest" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday-Monday, July 17-18, at 2132 Reynard Court, Annapolis. Roles are available for seven men age 19 to 50s and three women 30s to 50s. •Bowie Community Theatre will hold auditions for "Grace and Glorie," at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2-3 at the Bowie Playhouse, 16500 Whitemarsh Park Drive. Food drive

Theater performance

The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre presents "The Marvelous Wonderettes," a musical featuring girl-group songs from the 1950s and 1960s, running through July 24 at 143 Compromise St. in Annapolis. Set at the 1958 Springfield High School prom, the show features four local women as a singing group with big hopes and dreams. Show times are 8:30 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays. Tickets are $18. Foreign exchange student

The Rotary Club of Annapolis seeks candidates for its International Outbound High School Foreign Exchange Student program. The opening is for a nine-month period in the fall of 2012. The student must be between ages 15 and 181/2 at departure for overseas. Interviews will be held Sept. 6-8. The club will consider 10 candidates on a first-come, first-served basis. Further potential interviews, including parents, will be held in early November in York, Pa. "Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake," a themed event for children, returns for another season in Annapolis harbor. Children can get their faces painted, dress as pirates and participate in a treasure hunt on the water. Search for sunken treasure while using water cannons in defense against enemy pirates. The Anne Arundel Volunteer Center has released a Youth Resource Guide, which provides information about nonprofit and faith-based organizations in the county.
