Cordish set to make announcement at Power Plant

Power Plant developer David Cordish to make announcement Thursday

Phillips Seafood, an original Harborplace tenant that is closing its restaurant there Sept. 30, will show a city design panel plans Thursday for a new establishment at the Power Plant, in space left vacant by ESPN Zone when it closed last summer.

The city's Urban Design and Architecture Review Panel is scheduled to review plans by Phillips and architecture firm Design Collective.

Robert M. Quilter, a design planner in the city's Department of Planning, said the plans call for new windows on the East Pratt Street side of the Power Plant. The developer also has been asked to show proposed exterior improvements such as awnings and signage, he said.

Phillips and Power Plant's landlord, The Cordish Cos., have not confirmed Phillips' move to Power Plant, a mid-1990s Cordish redevelopment anchored by Barnes & Noble and Hard Rock Café.

But the developer said Wednesday that David Cordish, chairman of The Cordish Cos., will make an announcement Thursday morning at the Power Plant about the project. A Cordish spokeswoman, Megan Slattery, said Wednesday she could not offer more details or confirm Phillips' move.
