The Columbia Village Centers Courtyard concert series continues with the Mudbugs, who play Cajun and Zydeco Thursday, July 14, 6 p.m., at the Dorsey's Search Village Center. Turner, Dean of Magic will perform amazing feats July 15, 6 p.m., at the River Hill Village Center.

Live at the lakefront

At Lake Kittamaqundi, the Junkyard Saints will perform New Orleans-style party music Thursday, July 14, 6:30 p.m.

Washington, D.C. singer-songwriter Cathy Ponton King will perform rock in the vein of Bonnie Raitt Saturday, July 16, 8 p.m. Come Sunday, July 17, 6:30 p.m., the Quantum Kids will perform original instrumental music that mixes elements of progressive rock, psychedelia and jazz.

Lake Kittamaqundi will also host outdoors movie screenings of the Bruce Willis drama "Red" July 15 at 8 p.m. and the children's movie "Kung Fu Panda" July 18. Go to

Sounds of Sykesville

The folk duo Buskin & Batteau can be heard Thursday, July 14, 8 p.m., at Baldwin's Station & Pub (Sykesville, 410-795-1041). The group is composed of singer-songwriter-soloists David Buskin and Robin Batteau, who have just released a new CD, "Red Shoes and Golden Hearts," after a long hiatus. Admission is $20.
